KT 101 Part 1: Introduction to Knowledge Translation
Webinar Description:
The KT 101 webinar makes the case for awareness of knowledge translation (KT) and implementation science (IS) through analogies, literature review, and case scenarios. The overarching concept of the context where best evidence is integrated in practice and the need to define the audience for KT will be discussed in detail. Barriers to both KT and IS will be presented, along with solutions to address those barriers. To guide the novice through the process of KT, conceptual frameworks are introduced through an example from the literature with an emphasis on the Knowledge to Action (KTA) framework. Attendees are referred to the APTA Pediatric webpage to see KT tools already created and available for dissemination.
After attending KT 101, participants may wish to further explore training in KT provided through KBNet, APTA Pediatric's Knowledge Broker Network training program.
KT 101: Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
1. Define KT, and compare and contrast KT with IS.
2. Define barriers to KT in clinical practice, education, and clinical research.
3. Describe how KT conceptual frameworks can overcome barriers to using EBP.
